What is Masters of War ~
and what is a fanlisting?
In 1963, during the Vietnam conflict, legendary singer/songwriter Bob Dylan wrote the protest song "Masters of War". It is a hard-hitting, unflinching and scathing rant against war mongers and those who would profit by it; war lords, unscrupulous politicians, weapons manufacturers and arms dealers alike. It is as unsettling a poem as Dylan ever penned, unapologetic and blatant. And it holds true even today - or perhaps I should say especially today. If, like me, you are so sickened and angered by the warmongering of certain governments that it quite literally renders you speechless, then you will no doubt appreciate Dylan's eloquence all the more. "Masters of War" must be the credo, the alternate call to arms, for every opponent of the senseless cruelty that is war, and of those who promote it for their own gain. If you agree, then please join, won't you?
If you are unfamiliar with the concept of a fanlisting, it is simply a centralized listing of people who are fond of a particular musician, film, author, actor, painter, &c., animal, mineral or vegetable. It is free to join and requires only your name, a valid e-mail address and your country of residence. Interested? Then read the rules, grab a code (if you have a web site) and join. You can learn more about fanlistings by visiting TFL.
